Senior Pet Healthcare Clinics

At Fernside we are now offering Senior Clinics with our qualified Veterinary Nurses. All dogs over 8 (5 if a Giant Breed) and cats over 10 are eligible for these clinics.

With advances in veterinary healthcare and nutrition our pets are living longer. As with their human owners aging in our pets brings with it a number of changes. Regular health checks for your pet help recognise and treat age related health problems. Early detection means that we are more likely to be able to treat problems more successfully and have a better long term prognosis for your pet.

Included in our Senior Clinic :

Nurse examination including mobility assessment / feeding advice, Urine test, Blood Test, Blood Pressure, Dry Eye Test - for certain breed and a small bag of senior food.
(all results will be checked by one of our Veterinary Surgeons)

These tests allow us to assess liver, kidney and common conditions seen in senior pets. If your pet proves to be healthy these tests can work as a baseline so that we know what is normal for them. If there are any irregular results the vet has information to investigate further and advise on appropriate treatment protocols.

Prior to your appointment we will ask you to fill out a Senior Pet Questionnaire, to help with the initial assessment.

Please click below to download the senior pet questionnaire:

The cost of our Senior Clinic package is £60, a saving of £80 on the usual price (less than half price). If a follow up vet consult is needed this is priced at £15, a saving of £25 on the usual price.
